Florence intensive
In the morning we will have a look at three important Florentine churches: San Miniato al Monte – Santa Maria Novella – Medici Chapel, through which we can easily follow the development of architecture and art.
The New Sacristy, part of the sepulchre monument of the Medici family, was completely designed and built by Michelangelo.
In the afternoon, a gentle walk will lead us through narrow alleys and over small places past the most beautiful and important sights of Florence: the cathedral, the Baptistry, Piazza Signoria, Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio.
We stroll through the small winding streets, pass the impressive Palazzo Pitti, where the Medici family resided for about 200 years, and the Italian king for about 7 years. It is also possible to visit the church of Santa Maria del Carmine with the well-known frescoes by Masaccio, the church of Santo Spirito planned by Brunelleschi and the Church of Santa Felicita, with the famous paintings by Pontormo.
